Every visit will include a clinical observation of skin condition, circulation, signs of infection, and foot structure
The process starts by cleaning the hand with a moisturized disposable wipe. The nails are disinfected with an alcohol pad. All nails are visually inspected then cleaned under the nail bed and at the edges to loosen and remove debris. Using sterilized tools, the nails are carefully trimmed. Nails edges are filed smooth. The nails and surrounding skin are disinfected again with an alcohol pad. Finally, a lotion is massaged into the hand so the skin is left hydrated and clean.
Clean underneath the nail bed as needed. Avoid sharing nail clippers or other personal care items. Do not trim fingernails deep to the nail bed and leave 1 to 2 mm of fingernail exposed. Rub a moisturizing lotion into your hands daily to prevent dry, cracking fingertips.
