Description

Toenail fungus is a common condition for many people. As the infected nail becomes thicker, the fungus grows deeper and presses against the underlying skin. This constant pressure can be painful and cause bruising under the nail.

The good news is that your toenail fungal infection is treatable. Regular debridement provided by a MobiCare Advanced Foot Care nurse will remove the overgrown fungal nail safely to expose a clean, healthy nail bed.

What To Expect

Every visit will include a clinical observation of skin condition, circulation, signs of infection, and foot structure

The fungal nail(s) and surrounding skin are assessed and disinfected with an alcohol pad then cleaned underneath and at the edges to loosen and remove fungal debris. Using sterilized tools, the nail is carefully trimmed and any ingrown nail is treated. Specialized filing tools may be used to safely remove excess nail bulk and reduce the thickness, returning the nail to a manageable state. The nail and surrounding skin are cleaned with a moisturized disposable wipe, then disinfected again with an alcohol pad. Finally, a lotion is massaged into the foot and lower leg so the skin is left hydrated and clean.
